Halloween Cocktails Paired with Classic Halloween Candy

Halloween cocktails paired with classic Halloween candy

Halloween is the perfect excuse to mix something spooky and raid the candy bowl at the same time. So we paired five Liquid Alchemist cocktails with the classic treats they taste best with. Pick your favorite candy, then make its drink.

The pairings

Tequila Blood Moon + Twizzlers

Bright and fruity. The sweetness of Twizzlers plays off the tart blood orange and lime in this drink for a spooky but refreshing combo.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Add everything except the grenadine to a shaker with ice and shake.
  2. Pour it all, ice included, into a collins glass.
  3. Slowly pour in the grenadine so it sinks to the bottom.
  4. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Hellfire Sour + Hot Tamales

Turn up the heat. The bourbon and apple spice in this sour match the cinnamon burn of Hot Tamales for a devilishly hot pairing.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Add the bourbon, Campari, lemon juice and syrup to a shaker with ice and shake.
  2. Strain over fresh ice.
  3. Float the lemon-peel boat on top, fill it with lemon extract and carefully light it. Let the flame burn out before you sip.

As Above, So Below + Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Dark and decadent. Cold brew and vodka set off the creamy peanut butter and chocolate in a Reese’s cup. This one is basically dessert in a glass.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Add everything except the milk to a rocks glass with ice and stir for 5 seconds.
  2. Froth the milk in a separate shaker tin with a handheld frother, or whip-shake it with the spring from a Hawthorne strainer.
  3. Slowly pour the frothed milk over the ice so it floats: white on top, black below.

Samhain Sling + Candy Corn

Pumpkin spice and apple cider make this sling taste like fall, and the simple sweetness of candy corn complements its spice without overwhelming it.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Add everything to a shaker with ice and shake.
  2. Strain into a highball glass and fill with fresh ice.
  3. Garnish with a Brach’s mellowcreme pumpkin on a skewer.

Bonfires Burning Bright + Snickers

Smoky and spicy. Rye and mezcal stand up to the caramel, nougat and chocolate in a Snickers, and the candy brings out the richness of the drink.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Add everything to a shaker with ice and shake.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe.

Set out the candy, pour the drinks

Lay out all five candies, mix a round, and let your guests find their pairing. Happy Halloween!
