This simple syrup is a really solid find. It is made with real cane sugar, which gives it a genuinely great taste that completely avoids any of the artificial or chemical aftertastes you can get with cheaper commercial mixers. When I am dialing in liquid recipes for the coffee cart, having a consistent syrup like this makes scaling up much easier. It mixes perfectly smoothly into cold brews and iced lattes. Plus, calculating the exact physical volume displacement for large beverage dispensers is completely straightforward since it is a high-quality, pre-mixed liquid rather than dealing with dissolving raw sugar.Getting a full 32-ounce bottle that can handle up to 64 drinks is a really good value for the price. If you are looking for a reliable, straightforward simple syrup to use for daily coffee routines or cocktails that does exactly what it is supposed to do, this is definitely a great choice.
This is a staple for a well stocked home bar. So many cocktails use / benefit from a simple syrup. And sure, you can make it from scratch... But having a great go-to premade option will up your cocktail game. This is a good quality mix, it's a great value and provides good flavor. It's shelf stable, so it's going to last until you're ready to use it.
This 32-ounce simple syrup bottle provides a significant volume of liquid sugar that blends easily into coffee, mocktails, and lemonade. I used it to sweeten a cup of mushroom coffee, and it dissolved cleanly without leaving any gritty granulated residue. The sweetness level is consistent, the texture is smooth, and the liquid mixes well into both hot and cold drinks. The large size yields dozens of servings, making it a practical option for daily beverage preparation at home. The ingredient list relies on chemical additives to maintain stability rather than utilizing alternative production methods. The formula includes potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, and sodium acid sulfate to prevent spoilage and extend shelf life at room temperature. Other premium syrup brands on the market manage to remain shelf-stable for months without adding these extra preservatives, often by using glass packaging and distinct bottling techniques. While these artificial additives are common in budget mixers, consumers who prefer a cleaner ingredient profile may find these additions unnecessary. At a retail price of $14.99, the value proposition feels low for a plastic bottle of basic sugar water. This price point aligns closely with premium brands that come in glass bottles and feature cleaner ingredient lists with zero preservatives. While the syrup functions fine for sweetening everyday drinks and offers good pouring convenience, the combination of a high price and the reliance on chemical shelf-stabilizers limits the overall appeal.
It does taste like simple syrup I have made from scratch. It does have preservatives in it so this has a shelf life versus making scratch. The ingredients state added sugars other than the pure cane used. It doesn’t state where manufacturered. Can be used for more than just cocktails. It did blend well with whiskey to make a whiskey sour. Not sure about other cocktails because not a fan of those. Seems a fair price for getting 2 32 ounce bottles. Bottles were safely sealed and plastic. Seems would be comparable to other brands.
First impressionThis is basically what you’d expect from a simple syrup: sugar + water as the main ingredients. That part is fine. It uses cane sugar, which is at least a more “natural” choice compared to high-fructose corn syrup, so that’s a small win.The good:- Short ingredient list (at first glance)- Real cane sugar instead of artificial sweeteners- No fats, no weird macronutrients—just straightforward syrup- Works exactly as intended for cocktails, coffee, etc.The not-so-good:This is where it loses points for me.Very high sugar content: 20g of added sugar per 1 oz serving (that’s a lot). You’re basically getting pure sugar calories—80 per serving—with zero nutritional benefit. Not surprising, but still worth calling out.Preservatives:- Potassium sorbate- Sodium benzoateThese are common, but they’re not exactly “clean” ingredients. Some people try to avoid them due to potential sensitivities or long-term concerns.- Sodium acid sulfate: This one stands out more. It’s typically used as an acidifier, but it’s not something you’d expect in a truly “simple” syrup made at home. The “natural” claim:The front says “made with real cane sugar” and “natural ingredients,” but that feels a bit like marketing spin. A truly natural simple syrup would just be sugar + water, maybe citrus or herbs—not preservatives and additives.Bottom line:It’s functional and convenient, but not something I’d call clean or particularly high-quality from an ingredient standpoint. If you’re using it occasionally in drinks, it’s fine—but if you care about avoiding additives, you could easily make a better version at home in 5 minutes.Good for convenience, but loses points for preservatives and the “not-so-simple” ingredient list.
Lily’s Mixers Classic Simple Syrup is a great addition to any kitchen, and it’s not just for cocktails. I love that it’s made with real cane sugar, there’s no strange aftertaste, just sweetness that works well in almost any drink. One of the standout features is how well it blends into cold beverages. Many syrups settle at the bottom or require a lot of stirring, but this one dissolves instantly, which makes for much easier mixing and a more enjoyable drink. The 32oz bottle is also a generous size and offers great value. Since a little goes a long way, it should last quite a while even with regular use. It can be used it in iced coffee, tea, lemonade, flavored water, and even a few baking and dessert recipes, and it performs consistently every time. It’s one of those pantry staples that ends up being more versatile than you expect.Honestly, I have no complaints. It tastes great, it’s convenient, and it does exactly what a simple syrup should do, plus it’s made with real cane sugar, which I really appreciate. Reliable, easy to use, and exactly what I was looking for.
This is one of those bar staples that just makes everything easier. The bottles are generous. You get a lot of value, especially since each bottle makes up to 64 drinks. Having two in the pack means I’m not constantly reordering. The syrup itself is smooth and perfectly balanced. Not overly sweet, not watery. It blends instantly into cold drinks, which is huge. No grainy sugar sitting at the bottom of the glass. It works great in classic cocktails like but I’ve also used it in homemade lemonade and mocktails. It keeps the flavor clean and consistent every time. The pour is easy and mess-free. The bottle size feels practical for home use.If you mix drinks regularly or just want to level up simple beverages at home, this is a solid, reliable staple to keep on hand.
It's a big honkin' bottle of simple syrup. It's going to take me 10 years to go through this much! But fo rht eprice, you can't beat the value for the money.I put a pump on it, because that seemed easier than trying to pour and portion it. This tastes and looks like any other simple syrup. I wish it didn't have citric acid as an additive, but so does pretty much everything nowadays. The syrup is the expected texture. It mixes well in old fashioned's and daiquiris. I like the bottle and label styling. It's a nice, quality product.
I picked this up because I’ve gotten a little lazy about making my own simple syrup for Old Fashioneds. Normally I just boil sugar and water and keep a small jar in the fridge, but it never lasts long and I don’t always feel like making another batch. Most store‑bought syrups are overpriced for what they are, so when I saw this one at a more reasonable price, I figured it was worth trying. My first impression was that it’s a clean, straightforward syrup. Nothing strange in the flavor, no odd aftertaste, and it mixes instantly. I’ve used it in a few drinks now, and it works exactly the way simple syrup should. It’s also a big bottle, which I appreciate, because it means I don’t have to constantly restock or ration it.One thing I did notice is that my drinks came out just a touch sweeter than when I use my homemade syrup. I’m not sure if that’s because of the ratio they use or because of the preservatives, but it’s not a bad thing. It just means I use a little less than I normally would. If you’re picky about sweetness levels, you may want to adjust your pour until you get it where you like it.Overall, this is a very good option if you want convenience without paying cocktail‑bar prices for sugar water. It’s easy, it tastes right, and the bottle size makes it a solid value. I’ll probably keep one of these around from now on, even if it does make me a bit lazier about making my own.
This simple syrup has been great to keep on hand for quick cocktails. It’s perfectly sweet, mixes easily, and is much more convenient than making a fresh batch every time. We’ve also gotten a lot of use out of it with our at-home slushy maker. Adding a little simple syrup to different drink mixtures helps provide the sugar needed for them to freeze and slush properly, so it has made experimenting with recipes much easier. The bottle is also huge, especially since you only need a small amount at a time. It should last us for quite a while. Overall, it’s a simple, reliable product that does exactly what it should.
great product to mix cocktails with. the consistency is there for what your using it for! perfect taste and texture for making cocktail drinks and more! I highly recommend this product as it works wonderfully! awesome item to own for your mixed drinks!
You get quite a bit of syrup for the price, which is nice. The flavor is neutral, so makes a good addition across the board for drinks. Mixes and dissolves just fine. What I don't care for is the added ingredients. Overall, simple syrup is just sugar water--why are there additives?
This Lily mixers comes with one mixer of simple syrup. What I really like about it is the distinct taste and smell of the mixer. Mixer ingredient quality looks solid and the mixer seems well made with no obvious defects which gives support in this being of high quality. The color of the mixer is accurate as shown. Compatibility wise, in my testing it mixes as expected with no major issues for using with mixed alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks along with snow cones using a beverage pump that’s not included. Texture wise, the mixer has a little bit of grittiness to it when added to sodas or alcoholic drinks like rum, but in snow cones use, you don’t taste the texture at all. Functionally, this is easy to use, simply open, pour and add to your favorite drink. For the price, this mixer provides a lot of value. Overall, highly recommend this item. 4.5/5
This assortment says made in small batches, but the bottles are plenty large for home mixing, and even for a real bar. These are not "sample size", they are full size you would buy at a liquor store. The taste is nice and clean, and the simple syrup goes with anything from old fashioneds to coffee. The bottle is plastic so no risk of cracking and they pour easily. If you're just made a home bar or want to get into mixing, this is a good value to get you started. You'll also want a set of bitters, most likely, to unlock a wider array of cocktails.
If you are a person who values your time, or if you like making cocktails but you lack a kitchen with stove and a pot, this syrup is for you. Basic, sweet, and a generous size to make a number of cocktails, Lily's simple syrup for cocktails is just what you need. I particularly like the fact that it is made with sugar, rather that with corn syrup, a product I don't care for. A little pricy, but if you fall into the categories above, it is a worthwhile buy.
This is kind of a giant bottle of simple syrup, maybe a bit too much for my home bar, but if you make a lot of cocktails that use it, this is a decent choice. Color is clear, the flavor is sweet, just like some sugar water should be, and it's easy to pour and to locate amongst your other bottles. It's a decent value if the shelf size is worth it for you, as the bottle is somewhat large!
This Lily's Mixers Simple Syrup for Cocktails | Made in Small Batches with Real Cane Sugar is a good quality simple syrup mixture that provides the ability to make cocktails quickly. Instead of having to make sugar water yourself, this provides it for you while also lasting longer given some added preservatives. This has a thin liquid consistency and smooth texture along with a sweet flavor. This is compatible with various types of liquors and could be used to sweeten other drinks like lemonade. Overall, this is a moderate size bottle that can make a good amount of drinks and can be easily stored in a bar. This also is moderately priced given the size of the bottle.
This is effectively sugar water, but the convenience and preservatives of a shelf-stable product. That makes it a win for me, because there’s no chance I’m making sugar syrup on any regular basis. This one is made with real sugar, which is another big plus. It has a texture similar to coffee flavor syrups and a neutral flavor. Mixes well, doesn’t color or dilute my drink. Not as cheap as just making sugar syrup, but it’s a good value because of the convenience of it.
Simple syrup is basically sugar water in concentrate form, so it can easily be made at home for SO MUCH cheaper than this product. But in a pinch, if you don't have any pre-made simple syrup and you don't feel like making up a new batch, this is a nice product to have in your cupboard. It does contain preservatives so that refrigeration is unnecessary, but there's nothing strange about the flavor; it tastes like the simple syrup I make from scratch. Its viscosity is similar to cough syrup, and it mixes very easily into everything. You can use if for anything you'd want to sweeten up, not just cocktails.
I ordered Lily's Mixers Classic Simple Syrup for my home bar setup, and it has completely eliminated the annoying prep work from my weekend routine. I used to boil water and sugar on the stove every time I wanted to make drinks, which always left me waiting around for it to cool down while granulated sugar messed up the consistency. This bottled version blends instantly into cold liquids without leaving that gritty sludge at the bottom of the glass, making it incredibly easy to stir up a quick Old Fashioned or sweeten a batch of fresh lemonade on the fly.The sheer size of the 32-ounce bottle is a massive plus if you host people often or just use it daily. I keep it right next to my espresso machine to splash into my morning iced lattes, and then transition it over to the bar cart when happy hour rolls around. It is completely shelf-stable, meaning I don't have to hog valuable refrigerator space or worry about it spoiling after a couple of weeks like homemade batches usually do.You get roughly 32 to 64 drinks out of a single bottle, so it easily survives a few large gatherings without running low. It delivers a very clean, neutral sweetness that lets the actual flavors of your espresso or liquor take center stage rather than overpowering them with synthetic notes. It is a straightforward, reliable kitchen staple that saves a ton of cleanup time.
Well first off, simple syrup is really easy to make at home as it is just sugar and water reduced down on the stove. However, sometimes you just want to have some shelf stable simple syrup on hand to make some drinks when you need them instead of always making it fresh or trying to store it for extended amounts of time. That is where this comes in, for the convenience alone it is great. It has pretty simple ingredients but does have shelf stabilizing ingredients if that is of concern to you. But honestly if that was a concern you would just make your own.It tastes great though and has the fun design on the front. There are so many recipes online too that you can look up that use simple syrup. We also added it to our some of our slushie mixes for making them in the Ninja Slushie when it needed more of a sugar ratio so it is very versatile. It comes in a large 32oz bottle so you get quite a bit for the value. No complaints here, what you see is what you get. They even list the ingredients and things for you up front so I don't see how any could order and not know. Great overall.
